A Ford F-150 rolled over on state Route 14 in Cedar Canyon shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, leaving the truck upside down near the turnoff to Right Hand Canyon Road.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said the westbound driver reached for something inside the cab, lost control and rolled onto a berm on the highway’s north side.
No other vehicles were involved.
The driver, who troopers said was not wearing a seat belt, climbed out through a broken side window without help.
No injuries were reported, and he declined medical transport.
The heavily damaged pickup was towed from the scene.

BO | Brett Olsen · 18 hours ago 30 bucks for 3 college credits is honestly a steal. Tuition at most places is way more than that per credit.

Q/A Questions |
Q: Why do so many people describe Cedar City as surprisingly cool in summer compared to the rest of Utah? A: Cedar City sits at roughly 5,800 feet elevation on the western edge of the Colorado Plateau, which keeps summer highs noticeably lower than the desert valleys below. While Las Vegas and St. George can bake above 110°F, Cedar City regularly tops out in the mid-80s, making it a natural refuge for heat-weary travelers heading toward Bryce Canyon or Zion.
Q: Cedar City is often called a college town, but how significant is Southern Utah University to the local economy? A: SUU enrolls around 12,000 to 14,000 students, which is enormous relative to Cedar City's population of roughly 37,000 residents. The university anchors healthcare, arts, and retail spending in the region, and its presence helps explain why Cedar City supports amenities — including a regional airport and a professional theater festival — that cities of its size rarely sustain on their own.
Q: What is the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and why is it considered unusual for a city this small? A: Founded in 1961 and based at SUU, the Utah Shakespeare Festival is one of the largest and most acclaimed outdoor Shakespeare events in North America, drawing well over 100,000 visitors annually. It has received the Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre, a distinction that places Cedar City in the same conversation as major metropolitan arts scenes despite its modest size and remote location. |

Southern Utah scored the first 12 points, held Redlands to four in the opening quarter and led 38-17 at halftime.
SUU kept up the pressure after the break, opening the second half with 10 unanswered points and closing the game on a 12-0 run.
Brooklyn Fely scored 14 points, including eight in the final quarter, while Ava Uhrich, Denver Anderson and Diana Sorrondo helped build the lead.
Now 1-0, the Thunderbirds travel to face New Mexico State on Friday, November 6. Read More... |

Tip of The Day |
Use Cedar City as a Dark Sky Base Camp
Cedar City sits within easy driving distance of some of the least light-polluted skies in the continental United States. Tonight, load a free app like Stellarium, check that the moon is below the horizon (a new moon phase is ideal), and drive just 20–30 minutes east toward the Cedar Breaks area. Pull off on a quiet forest road, let your eyes adjust for a full 20 minutes without looking at your phone screen, and the Milky Way core will become strikingly visible to the naked eye — no telescope required.
The elevation around Cedar City (roughly 5,800 feet) also means less atmosphere to look through, sharpening star views noticeably compared to lower-elevation desert spots. If you plan ahead, the Cedar Breaks National Monument ranger station occasionally hosts free evening astronomy programs — worth a quick call before you head out. |
