The Cedar Reds kept their perfect record alive with a hard-fought 23-16 win over the Juab Wasps in the 3A football semifinals at Southern Utah University on November 7, 2025.
Backed by a lively hometown crowd, Cedar jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to a 30-yard field goal from Cody Stevenson.
Quarterback Everett Kelling then found Slade Parsons for a touchdown, and added two rushing touchdowns himself, stretching the Reds’ advantage to 23-0 early in the fourth quarter.
Juab rallied late behind Price Armstrong and Brock Richards, closing the gap to just one touchdown.
But Cedar’s defense delivered a clutch stop, punching their ticket to the 3A state championship game against the Manti Templars on November 15 at Zions Bank Stadium.

The Canyon View High School marching band achieved a historic milestone, capturing their inaugural 3A state championship at the Utah Music Educators Association’s Red Rocks State Marching Band Championships in St. George.
Outperforming more than 40 statewide bands, the Falcons earned a 67.05 score, edging out Carbon and Delta High School.
The event, hosted at Utah Tech University’s Greater Zion Stadium, filled the venue with passionate music and energy.
Guided by Will Zeller, the 56-member band performed the dramatic show 'Thor’s Hammer', inspiring the crowd with powerful themes drawn from Norse myth.
The Falcons also received honors for visual and musical excellence, reflecting months of hard practice by students and coaches like Aimee Carnesecca and Gabriela Sanchez.

Smith's Food and Drug is bringing two new Smith’s Marketplace stores to Cedar City, promising a major boost to local shopping choices.
The first 123,000-square-foot store will break ground at 1247 South Main Street, with a projected opening in early 2027.
This $50 million project will anchor a new 18-acre retail center, replacing the long-standing South Main Street location after nearly three decades.
Current employees will have opportunities to transfer to the new store, ensuring continuity for workers.
Talks are also underway for a second Marketplace on Cedar City’s north side, underscoring Smith’s confidence in the area’s future growth.
