Southern Utah Museum of Art Showcases Faculty Talent and Engages Community in Visual Storytelling |
The Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA) is ushering in the new year by highlighting film and media arts, reinforcing its role as a hub for contemporary art and creative education in Southern Utah.
Currently on display is the 2025 Filmmaking, Art & Design Faculty Exhibition, running from October 18, 2025, through March 7, 2026.
This biennial showcase features the work of 17 faculty artists, offering a diverse array of mediums from printmaking to installation art. It's an opportunity for the campus and community to celebrate the achievements of SUU's distinguished faculty members, who have earned regional, national, and international recognition for excellence in their areas.
In addition to exhibitions, SUMA serves as a space for conversation and engagement around visual culture. January’s focus on film and media aligns with a season when audiences are naturally drawn to reflection, storytelling, and creative renewal. For students, artists, and community members alike, SUMA’s winter programming offers an opportunity to engage with contemporary work while supporting Southern Utah’s growing creative economy.
Located on the Southern Utah University campus, SUMA remains free and open to the public, encouraging residents and visitors to make art part of their winter routine. Whether encountering film-based installations, design-driven exhibitions, or related programming, January at SUMA sets a thoughtful tone for the year ahead. |
