Haunted Maze and Longhorns bring Halloween excitement to Kanarraville Farm |
Explore a pumpkin launcher and haunted maze |

For Cedar City families searching for a pumpkin patch with more personality, Kanarraville offers a colorful detour.
At Frisby Farms, Halloween means pumpkins on the vine, friendly longhorns and a barn that changes character after dark.
Children can choose pumpkins, meet the cows, take a hayride and settle in for painting or carving.
A witch-themed potion activity gives younger visitors a playful introduction to the farm's spookier side.
For those ready to test their nerves, the haunted maze is the main event.
Daytime trips through the indoor attraction are designed to be gentler for families with children.
After sunset, actors, fog and stronger effects turn the same route into a considerably more intense experience.
Anyone who needs a break can leave the maze and find quieter activities nearby.
That flexibility matters when one child wants a fright and another just wants a pumpkin.
Outside, a giant restored launcher sends pumpkins flying across the property, adding a little spectacle to the evening.
Visitors can also try a toy blaster game built around a story of pumpkin-stealing bandits.
Yet the farm's appeal goes beyond its Halloween farm attractions.
Christie and Ryan Frisby have carried a family Halloween tradition into Kanarraville, building much of the experience themselves.
What began as homemade holiday fun has become a seasonal outing for Southern Utah neighbors.
Campfires and selective lighting help keep the rural setting atmospheric without washing out the night sky.
The farm plans Thursday through Sunday hours during its Halloween run, with Sundays set aside for less scary visits.
Admission is listed at $10 per person, while pumpkins and food cost extra; confirm current details before traveling.
Find Frisby Farms at 2148 S. Old Highway 91 in Kanarraville, and plan for an afternoon that can stretch into a spooky evening. |

Sunday being the less scary option is a smart idea. Wish more places did that so families with younger kids still have a good option.
kim_87Totally agree. We took our four year old to a haunted thing last year not realizing how intense it was and it was a rough night. Having a dedicated calmer option is such a relief for parents.
Been driving past that old highway for years and had no idea this was out there. Definitely putting it on the list for this weekend.
Ryan T.We drove past it for the first time last fall and finally stopped this year. Definitely worth the detour, it kind of sneaks up on you from the road.
The witch potion activity sounds adorable for little ones. My granddaughter would go crazy for something like that.
Phyllis OdomRight? My granddaughter would be completely absorbed in that for a good half hour. Sometimes those simple imaginative activities beat all the high tech stuff.
Confirms current details before traveling which usually means the website isn't kept up. Would call ahead first just in case.
skeptical_steve_kGood call. I always call ahead for these smaller farm operations anyway. Hours can change depending on weather or how busy they are that week.
Love that a local family actually built this themselves. Feels way more genuine than those big commercial pumpkin patch setups.
Carrie B.Same feeling here. You can just tell when something was built with actual care versus a company trying to cash in on the season. The longhorns alone are something you won't find at a pop-up lot.
The haunted maze after dark sounds intense. My teenagers would absolutely love it though.
Marcus HensleyHa same here, my 15 year old has been begging me to find something actually scary this year. Might have to make the drive out to Kanarraville.
Kanarraville is such a short drive from here. People sleep on that road but it's honestly beautiful this time of year.
Really glad they do the gentler daytime version of the maze. My youngest is 5 and there's no way she'd survive the nighttime one lol
$10 a person sounds reasonable but curious how much the pumpkins run. That's always where it adds up fast.
Tessa MikkelsonWe went a couple years ago and honestly the pumpkins were pretty fair priced, nothing crazy. But yeah bring some extra cash just in case, the food smells too good to skip.
Took my kids here last weekend and the pumpkin launcher alone was worth the drive from Cedar City. My son talked about it the whole way home.
Jamie R.The pumpkin launcher is seriously underrated. My daughter kept asking if we could go back just for that. Glad your son had a blast too!
