Forge Theater Company Brings Holiday Cheer to Cedar City with Two Family-Friendly Christmas Productions

Newly Established Theater Group Debuts 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' and 'The Star Still Shines' at Cedar Fun Center

The Forge Center for the Arts, a newly established theater company in Cedar City, is set to enchant audiences this holiday season with two original, family-friendly Christmas productions.

Under the leadership of three-time Emmy Award winner Ellen Wheeler, The Forge aims to become a vibrant hub for the arts in Southern Utah.

Wheeler, a Cedar City native, has returned to her roots to share her passion for theater with the community.

The inaugural productions, 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' and 'The Star Still Shines', promise to deliver heartwarming holiday experiences for audiences of all ages.

'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' offers a modern twist on the classic tale of A Christmas Carol.

The story follows Ebony, a character who has lost her holiday spirit, as she embarks on a journey of rediscovery with the help of three mischievous elves and a touch of festive magic.

This interactive performance invites the audience to participate in Ebony's transformation, making it a delightful experience for children and adults alike.

'The Star Still Shines' is a beautiful celebration of the true meaning of Christmas.

Centered around the Star of Bethlehem, this uplifting show blends music, storytelling, and heartfelt moments to remind us that the light of Christ continues to shine today.

Both productions will be held at the Cedar Fun Center, an inviting venue that has become a popular spot for family entertainment in Cedar City.

Performances are scheduled from December 5 to December 22, offering multiple opportunities for families to attend.

Tickets are affordably priced at $10 per individual or $30 for a family pass, ensuring that everyone can partake in the holiday festivities.

Tickets can be purchased through The Forge's official website.

In addition to these theatrical offerings, Cedar City is bustling with holiday activities.

The Historic Downtown Cedar City Lighting Ceremony on November 29 marked the beginning of the season, featuring a Christmas market, live performances, and the arrival of Santa Claus.

These events, combined with The Forge's productions, contribute to a festive atmosphere that brings the community together in celebration.

The Forge Center for the Arts envisions becoming a cornerstone of the local arts scene over the next few years.

Plans include developing multiple performance spaces, expanding educational programming, and building a reputation for excellence and community-centered artistry.

By offering high-quality, affordable entertainment, The Forge aims to create lasting holiday traditions for families in Cedar City and beyond.
