Celebrate the season with festive activities, a Christmas market, and Santa's grand arrival |
Historic Downtown Cedar City is set to sparkle on Saturday, November 29, 2025, as the community gathers for the annual Downtown Lighting Ceremony and the opening night of the Holiday Tree Jubilee.
The festivities commence at 12 PM with the Cedar City Christmas Market on Center Street, offering a variety of local crafts and seasonal treats until 9 PM.
Families can enjoy carriage rides, crafts, a reindeer pen, and bounce houses from 3 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.
At 5 PM, the Main Stage will host performances choreographed by world-renowned dancer Mic Thompson, leading up to Santa's grand entrance via helicopter at 6 PM, in partnership with SUU Aviation.
The evening culminates with the illumination of downtown's holiday lights and a spectacular fireworks display.
Following the fireworks, a live nativity scene will be presented in front of the Old Rock Church.
The Holiday Tree Jubilee, a cherished fundraising event, begins at 3 PM in the Heritage Center Theater.
Proceeds support Iron County Care and Share, the Cedar City Police Department's Shop with a Cop program, and aid for homeless and at-risk teens in Iron County during the holiday season.
Cedar City Mayor Garth O. Green expressed his enthusiasm: "The holidays are such a magical time for everyone. We strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, whether you are a long-time resident, new resident, visiting for a moment during the holidays, or attending Southern Utah University for a few years. We invite you to spend time with us and create lasting memories in our community."
Event Director Brandon Burk added, "Whether you're a first-timer or a regular attendee, the evening will be filled with something new for everyone. The event truly feels like you've stepped into a classic Hallmark movie. You won't want to miss it."
