Falcons' Boys and Girls Teams Secure Regional Titles, Setting Sights on State |
Canyon View High School's swimming teams have once again demonstrated their dominance in the pool, clinching both the boys' and girls' titles at the Region 12 Championships held at the Cedar Aquatics Center.
The girls' team amassed an impressive 559 points, outpacing their closest competitor, Emery High School, which scored 340 points. Key performances included Avah Kling of Richfield, who won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.81, and Gracie Taylor of Canyon View, who secured second place in the same event at 2:07.00. In the 50 freestyle, Soleil Grimshaw led the pack with a swift 25.59 seconds, followed by teammate Tallula Rigtrup at 27.05 seconds.
On the boys' side, the Falcons showcased their prowess with standout performances. Kurt Morgan set a new 3A-best time in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 46.05 seconds, improving upon his previous record of 46.28. Additionally, Sean Cannon enhanced his 200 individual medley time to 2:03.69, demonstrating the team's depth and commitment to excellence.
