Secret Little Hack

Visit the Southern Utah Museum of Art for free admission on the first Monday of every month.

As spring arrives in Southern Utah, residents are drawn outdoors by brighter skies and warmer air.

Beyond the scenic red rock desert, longer days bring more natural light, which helps regulate the body’s internal clock and boosts overall health.

Sunlight exposure remains a key source of vitamin D — the “sunshine vitamin” essential for calcium absorption, strong bones, and healthy immune function.

Vitamin D also supports metabolic health, skin renewal, and even hair strength.

Natural light increases serotonin production for greater mood stability and mental clarity, making outdoor time a stress and energy booster.

While sunscreen is important for skin protection, short periods outside before application allow the body to produce vitamin D efficiently.

Even brief morning walks or breaks outdoors in Cedar City and Iron County can help you feel more rested, focused, and energized.
