Zion Forever Project Seeks New Board Members to Shape the Future of Conservation |
Local nonprofit invites Cedar City residents to apply and guide the next chapter for Zion National Park |
The Zion Forever Project, the official nonprofit partner for Zion National Park, is putting out a call for community leaders in Cedar City and the surrounding area. The organization is accepting applications for new board members to help set the vision and strategy for park conservation, outreach, and public education efforts.
‘Serving on the Zion Forever board lets you have a real, lasting impact on one of the region’s greatest treasures,’ said Executive Director Lyman Hafen. The group supports trail restoration, youth education, and community science programs—all vital as Zion sees record-breaking visitation and faces new ecological challenges.
Applicants should have a passion for public lands, conservation experience, or a background in nonprofit leadership. Nominations are open through May 30th, with interviews and orientation to follow ahead of the summer board retreat.
New board candidates do not need prior board experience or a professional conservation background. Instead, Zion Forever is looking for people with a deep understanding of political and governmental affairs related to public lands and strong connections to nonprofit or philanthropic organizations and funding networks, particularly in larger metropolitan areas, according to Zion Forever’s call for board nominations.
Those interested in applying for the role can find more information on the Zion Forever or Potrero Group websites. The application deadline is May 8.
